Don't let anyone look down on your because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
This is a website for leaders in Youth and Young Adult Ministry in the
Lutheran Church of Australia's Victorian District (including Tasmania).
We are blessed with many talented and passionate people serving our youth, but especially in our camping ministries: CHRISTIAN LIFE WEEK (CLW) and EASTER CAMP. Our leaders give up their own time - sometimes annual leave - to spend a week with youth and young people and walk with them in their faith journey. They also commit to online and face to face training, as well as following up afterwards.
In Victoria we have a number of opportunities to serve in
Youth and Young Adult Ministry:
EMPOWER
(Compulsory annual training & enrichment day for all LYV Camp Leaders)

EASTER CAMP
(Easter long weekend camp for ages 18-30+ yrs)

Think you're not equipped or talented enough to be a leader?
Better watch this, then...
Pray about it. We can all be a leader... and we've all been responsible for 'someone's lollypop moment.'
comments from leaders...
"I've been a leader because I wanted to give back to youth ministry. I always admired the leaders who gave up their time to lead and share their faith with me, and I wanted to be able to do the same for the youth now, and to support and encourage them in their faith journey."
- ANNA REICHENBACH
"I love leading because it gives me the chance to share in growing and challenging other people’s faith and maturity. I remember how leaders guided me and think it's special to have people want me to be that for them."
- MEL GOESSLING
"To be an adolescent, there is nothing in the world more embarrassing than a parent... this is why I chose to become not only a leader but also a friend they can identify with. Teenage years are some of the most challenging and confronting years in a person’s life, understanding your place in the world; to be a leader in faith and in life at this time I believe will have an everlasting impact. Never underestimate the influence and guidance you might have on someone especially with the help of God."
